So-I just read my last post..which was quite a while ago! In that post I talked about my healthy lifestyle change & how God is my source of strength for it all. And today that is still true (probably even more) than it was then. I've been steadily losing weight for almost 6 months. God is SO good! I am so thankful that He walks with me everyday. He is my ever present help. He is the reason why I can do what I do. I've lost a total of 27 lbs!!! I must be honest here...the first 15lbs were not so hard. But these last 5 have been the KILLER! It has taken me one month to lose 2 lbs. BUT I am NOT giving up! My pastor says "failure is not an option"...and that is what I keep reminding myself. If I give up then I will never lose the last few pounds. If I keep going...EVENTUALLY they will have to go! So, praise be to God that I am ALMOST there. 5lbs to go!
One thing that I've learned from all of this is losing weight is not about losing weight. I had to change my habits, my lifestyle and my thinking. I am overall a healthier person in many different aspects. One physical aspect is (obviously the weight) I LOVE to run. That is very ironic to me because all through high school I played Lacrosse & HATED running. Now-when I don't have to run up and down a field....I choose to!? God is funny like that, isn't He?
The only thing sad about the weight loss is I have 5 lbs to go..but barely have any clothes that fit anymore! BUT I'm going to hold out and buy clothes when I'm finished! "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" -Phil 4:13
Between God and my husband...I had the best support group a girl could ask for.
My birthday is coming up..instead of the traditional birthday cake, John is taking me to Yogurt Mountain for my treat ;)
